Coming over the old bridge in Enniscorthy Town stay left at the end of the bridge. You will pass Treacy’s Hotel on your right hand side after 100 meters. Take the next right up a very steep hill. St Senan’s church is a few hundred meters up the hill on your right hand side.

We are researching my father’s family and we discovered that his grandmother’s mother was listed as living in Templeshannon. This information was provided on the birth certificate. We know that the family was strongly catholic and we suspect that the baby was probably baptized at St. Senan’s Church. Does St. Senan’s maintain records for 1864 and prior? If so, we are looking for the baptism of James Joseph Heavy (alt spelling Heavey or Hevey). Parents being Patrick Heavy and Catherine Byrne. Catherine’s mother, who was present at the birth, was listed as Anne Byrne. If there is a fee for the search, please let us know what that may be.

We are current located in the United States, so it is difficult for us to visit Ireland. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
